I have a cat of four years, and recently she has become ill. I was told it was a version of our flu--she had a fever of 103 degrees. She was given some medication in pill form, but recently she has started foaming at the mouth and slobbering all over herself.
She is more easygoing now, but I think she is like that because she is too tired to fight it. Also, she has thrown up once or twice. Is this just her nerves, dehydration or is something more serious going on here? Please help! |

I have a cat that has continuous problems with its mouth. It seems that every time it eats it's in extreme agony, sometimes jumping back from its food, pawing at its mouth and growling.
We took the cat to a vet here, have had a couple of dental cleanings, x-rays oral biopsies etc...and everything comes back normal. The cat has been given antibiotics to no avail. The only thing that seemed to help for a few weeks was a steriod injection given along with another antibiotic.
The cat drools continually and eats very little. Is there something going on here that our vet may be overlooking? |

I have a ten-year-old female cat. A few months ago she began licking everything from shampoo bottles to shaving cream cans to bags. I try my best to stop her or keep her away, but she still continues. Why would my cat be doing this at her age? |

I have four cats whose ages range from 8-10 years. When shopping for cat food (dry or wet) is it better to get the ones targeted toward senior cats? What type of food and/or ingredients should one look for? |

My fourteen-year-old female long hair domestic is getting more fragile. I have to pet/rub more gently and watch her food more. But now I notice that when she is relaxed, she quivers more, and sometimes has strong muscle spasms, when she never has before. Is this just being an older kitty or is it worthy of a vet visit? |

They are re-roofing my apartment building, and from what I can ascertain, my cat has a moderate sized glob of tar caught between the toes of his front paws. He keeps licking and chewing on it, and I am concerned that he may irritate it and/or ingest the tar. Do you have any suggestions of products that would safely remove the tar?

We have a nine-year-old cat that vomits sporadically, sometimes days in a row and sometimes once every few weeks, but always in the morning after eating. His vomit contains solid food, like he didn't chew it. What do you think the problem is?

We have several cats and would like to give them their shots ourselves. Could you recommend a type of store where we could buy the vaccine? We live near Portland, Oregon. Is it safe to administer the shots ourselves? Are there any potential problems we should be aware of? Our cats are four months old now. |
