Dr. Kristen Haviland

Dr. Kristen Haviland was raised in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. Her father is also a veterinarian, so she grew up surrounded by animals. She knew from an early age that she wanted to follow in his footsteps!

Dr. Haviland earned a B.A. in Biology from Middlebury College in Vermont. After finishing veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania she moved to San Francisco. Dr. Haviland worked at a small animal practice in San Mateo before joining Pets Unlimited in January 2006.

She lives in San Francisco with her husband, Dr. David Sierra (also a Pets Unlimited vet!). Their menagerie includes Zachary (their son), Willoughby (a black lab mix), Huxley (an exuberant golden retriever), Wrigley (world’s best cat) and Phyllis (a tuxedo cat who thinks she’s a princess). Outside of work, Dr. Haviland enjoys road biking, hiking and all things outdoors!
