Winnie's Center for
Holistic Veterinary Medicine
Our Holistic
Veterinary Medicine Program is housed in Winnie's Center, a calming,
spa-like facility on our lower level. The program is led by Dr.
Randy Bowman, a staff veterinarian who is certified through the
International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. Dr. Bowman sees
patients in the holistic center on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We are
fortunate to also have on staff Dr. Rachael Feigenbaum who will be
seeing patients on Thursdays.
From Dr. Bowman:

“I believe that
there is a difference between being healthy and
simply not having a disease or illness.
Western medicine is excellent at recognizing
disease or illness and treating it, but it is
not always good at recognizing the root or
beginnings of illness. In my practice, I
integrate Western and complementary medicine.
The two approaches act synergistically to give
me a more complete view of my patients’ health
and an expanded array of tools to bolster the
body’s capacity for healing. I draw from a wide
range of therapies, such as acupuncture, Chinese
herbs, and nutritional counseling to help your
pet achieve a state of well-being.” |

From Dr.
Feigenbaum:
"Like Dr. Bowman, I believe in integrating Western medicine and
surgery with acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and nutrition. A truly
holistic approach to your pet's care involves incorporating multiple
treatment modalities, and choosing the combination that is most
appropriate for the individual animal. I believe that medical care
for pets is best achieved as a collaborative effort, and therefore I
place great emphasis on educating clients and fully explaining all
treatment options. I take great pleasure in developing a trusting
relationship with my patients and with their human caregivers, and
keep in close communication so that I can assess response to
treatment and tailor therapies to your pet’s changing needs."
