Our Charitable Programs
We believe all animals deserve a healthy and happy life with loving owners. Our charity programs have grown from this belief. We depend on private donations to help homeless, sick and abused animals through these efforts:
-
The Shelter Support Fund
is where the majority of our donations go. This fund supports Pets Unlimited's
Animal Shelter and Adoption Center which specializes in hard to
adopt animals. We've saved more than a quarter of a million animals
since 1947. This program depends on donations to keep our sheltered cats and dogs safe and comfortable
and provide them with whatever medical care they need until they
find loving homes.
-
The Berrigan Fund is named in
memory of the well-loved dog of the generous donor who
established it. The Berrigan Fund pays for the medical treatment of
pets whose guardians cannot fully afford their care.
-
The Shelter Animal Hospital Fund
specifically pays for the medical treatment of cats and dogs who
come into our shelter for adoption. Because Pets Unlimited takes
animals who have special needs, the cost of their medical treatment
is one of our largest expenses.
-
The Good Samaritan Fund pays
for stray animals, such as feral cats, to be spayed/neutered and to
receive vaccinations.
-
We donate vital medical care to animal rescue groups throughout our region -- many of these injured and abused animals would be euthanized without this aid. We are the only animal hospital in this region donating this kind of care.
-
San Francisco's Animal Care and Control has chosen Pets Unlimited as the sole backup provider of medical care to
San Francisco's most desperately sick and injured animals; a portion of this care is donated.
-
We donate medical aid to
PAWS (Pets Are
Wonderful Support) and other nonprofit groups whose clients can't afford veterinary care.
Please help us provide homeless, injured and abused animals the medical aid they need before they can be
adopted by supporting our charity programs.
