I adopted Olive on July 27 from your shelter. It took me about 6 months of visiting the shelter to find the cat that made me think, “There she is! That’s the one!!” My last kitty, Emerald, had FIV and passed away when she was 13.  She was my cat since I was about 11 years old, so that hit me hard, and I wanted to make sure my next kitty was as cool as she! Enter Olive! When I met her in your shelter, I just couldn’t get her out of my mind. I knew she was a special little cat. I came back the next day and started the adoption process. Olive and I had a bit of a rocky start as we got used to each other – I felt like a new mom, not getting much sleep because my new baby was always crying for more food haha! Now Olive and I have our routine down, and she is a happy kitty in her new home!

A clean and pretty girl, Miss Olive just loves giving herself baths, and she loves it even more when Mommy brushes her hair. She always loved a good petting, but would never really lay down in my lap, she’d just kind of hover next to me as I pet her. When I picked her up in the first couple of weeks, she got antsy, perhaps because she wasn’t used to being held all that often as a former stray. But after a few weeks together, she started to let me pick her up and cuddle her. As of last week, she has started curling into my lap on her own, and can’t get enough of our lap cuddle time (see pictures)! She even drools when she’s snoozing in my lap, haha! We love each other very much, and I am so happy she is in my life. Thank you for helping me find Olive!
